OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- Rep. Mark McCullough (R-Sapulpa) is seeking a 5¢ bottle bill in Oklahoma that would include soda, water and beer.

He said a bottle bill would encourage Oklahomans to recycle. McCullough cited an average redemption rate of 84% where bills have been implemented, versus only 4% of containers recycled in Oklahoma.

Funds from the unredeemed deposits, which could amount to millions of dollars a year, would go to the state.
