"Wreck-It Ralph," a new motion picture from Walt Disney Animation Studios, opens in theaters nationwide this weekend. The feature-length film spotlights a variety of historical (real) 1980s-era videogame characters from Nintendo, Sega, Sony and Namco, among other game developers, who are depicted as interacting with fictional videogame characters created by the filmmakers.

Previews generated mixed if generally positive reviews from critics. The Seattle Times heralded the movie as "a winner ... charmingly told and expertly animated" while The Chicago Tribune found it "clever but exhausting."

Actors John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman provide leading voice characterizations under the direction of Rich Moore from a script by Jennifer Lee and Phil Johnston.

As previously reported by Vending Times, Disney promoted "Wreck-It Ralph" at E3 in Los Angeles last summer. | SEE STORY
