LOS ANGELES -- Industry icon Nolan Bushnell, best known as the founder of Atari and the Chuck E. Cheese's chain, launched a subscription website on May 10 that offers games designed to help people over 35 retain their mental acuity.
Anti-AgingGames.com is described as the first site offering scientifically based brain fitness games.
Elizabeth Amini, a former scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, who has a background in cognitive science, cofounded the site.
Games on the menu change regularly and are designed in consultation with neuroscientists from prestigious institutions including the medical schools of UCLA and Stanford University. Officials said the games are designed to promote better memory, concentration and focus as well as relaxation and stress reduction.
The company said it plans to donate 20% pretax profits to organizations involved in Alzheimer's prevention research.
