MALVERN, PA -- USA Technologies Inc., a cashless vending solutions company, has appointed payments industry veteran Deborah G. Arnold to its board of directors.
Arnold was vice-president of global consumer products at Visa International. Prior to that, she led Visa's global effort for smart card migration and the development of Visa Horizon, a payment product for emerging markets. Arnold held a variety of executive positions in the telecommunications and financial services industries before Visa.
In her current consulting practice, Arnold supports various organizations with strategic planning and marketing. She has been involved in the development of Near Field Communication technology and standards, initially as a founding member of the NFC Forum and now as director of that organization.
"Deborah has an impeccable record within the payments industry and is in great demand throughout the industry both domestically and internationally for her guidance in helping companies develop strategies to capitalize on the abundant opportunities unfolding in our industry," said USAT chairman and chief executive Stephen P. Herbert.
Arnold's appointment completes the company's board of directors at nine, of which seven are independent.
