FOSHAN, China -- An arcade game is being blamed for a man's sudden paralysis in China. According to local press reports from the Foshan region (Guangdong province), the 29-year-old man visited a local arcade, played a coin-operated boxing game and three days later was unable to move or speak.

The injury, which has received coverage on China's Shenzhen Satellite Television and Internet, is believed to be the first of its kind, ever. Paralyzed from the neck down, the man's injuries were diagnosed as preexisting congenital stenosis (weakening of the spinal canal) combined with punching.

News reports noted that the man, whose name was not released, is unlikely to recover.
