LAS VEGAS -- Planners and the sponsoring trade associations of the Amusement Expo have announced that the third and final day of the 2013 exhibit, which is March 22, will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rather than extending to the customary 4 p.m. close.
The show is sponsored by the Amusement and Music Operators Association and the American Amusement Machine Association, and it collocates with the annual National Bulk Vendors Association's show.
The third day traditionally has the lightest traffic. Officials said the change will be "more productive for exhibitors and attendees" because it enables them to get home -- and return to work sooner and eliminate an additional night's stay.
In early October, AMOA president Andy Shaffer advised Vending Times that another move was under consideration at that time to make the third day of the show more worthwhile for exhibitors by offering a reduced-rate, one-day pass to encourage more small operators in California to make the trip.
