JUNE VT PREVIEW: FECS SAY BAD WEATHER IS THE PROBLEM; BIRTHDAY PARTIES ARE THE ANSWER

U.S.A. , This spring's seasonal arcade business was once again dampened by rainy, cloudy weather that reduced arcade traffic up and down the East Coast. Given this vulnerability to the elements, it's understandable that birthday parties remain the FEC industry's most profitable promotion (these events are scheduled in advance, and they occur rain or shine). Acknowledged as the trade's top birthday party specialist is Frank Price, founder of Birthday University. The touring seminar program marks its fifth anniversary this year. The June issue of VENDING TIMES will feature some of Price's insights in our annual look at FEC marketing strategies. FEC owner Laurien Henry, who is also president of the International Association for the Leisure and Entertainment Industry, commented: "Frank Price is a great businessman and the master of birthday parties. His strategies are proven and now time-tested. I have known Frank for more than 10 years, and I believe so much in what he does that I become his partner, and together we started Hero's, The Party Experience. I'm delighted to offer my warmest congratulations on five years of Birthday University."
