MALVERN, PA -- USA Technologies has announced a three-year agreement with AMI Entertainment Network (Bristol, PA) under which USAT will be the exclusive provider of transaction processing services for all AMI Megatouch countertop game terminals and digital jukeboxes. The pact follows AMI's choice of USAT's software to handle Megatouch cashless transactions through the USALive Network. | | SEE STORY

Under the pact, USAT's ePort software development kit is being used to produce the transaction processing programs on AMI's jukes and touch videogames. The software enables credit and debit card acceptance, as well as remote sales and machine function data monitoring. During the term of the accord, USAT will earn transaction and licensing-fee revenue.

USAT's ePort SDK is supported by the company's ePort Connect service, an end-to-end suite of cashless payment and telemetry programs tailored specifically to the needs of self-service retail industries like vending, amusements, kiosks and gaming. EPort Connect complies with the requirements established by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Security Standards Council, and enables self-service terminals to accept credit and debit cards (including contactless media). It handles all the elements of transaction processing while permitting customers to monitor and manage their terminals online.

USAT chief executive Stephen P. Herbert noted that adding a simple, convenient cashless payment option to jukeboxes and games will improve the customer experience. He explained that historical data indicate that customers, on average, increase their spending when they can use a debit or credit card. "AMI's decision to ship their countertop games and jukeboxes equipped with the ePort SDK software makes it easy for their customers to enjoy the benefits of a cashless- and telemetry-embedded solution," he said.

AMI Entertainment Network delivers content-rich entertainment to more than 125,000 tavern and restaurant locations around the world.

USA Technologies provides networked credit card and other noncash solutions to the vending, commercial laundry, hospitality and digital imaging industries, as well as energy-management technology for office, retail and vending customers. The company has been granted 79 patents, and has agreements with Visa, Verizon, Crane Merchandising Systems and Compass Group, among others.
