DANVILLE, CA -- The Pelican Group, a nationwide vending and amusement machine management company, has signed a long-term agreement to manage beverage vending in Safeway supermarkets nationwide.
Pelican will manage all of Safeway's cold drink venders in the "front end" of the grocery stores, including national brands and Refreshe, Safeway's private-label cold drink brand, which includes bottled water and carbonated soft drinks.
Terms of the agreement and commission structure were not disclosed, but Pelican described the deal as one that would provide long-term security and growth for its 420-plus operating partners.
