Kraft Hikes Price Of Some Maxwell House, Yuban Coffees

GLENVIEW, IL -- Kraft Foods increased the list price of some Maxwell House and Yuban roast and ground coffees by about 4%, or 10¢ a pound, last week, Reuters reported.

Kraft spokeswoman Bridget MacConnell attributed the price hikes to sustained increases in the costs of arabica coffee and crude oil, among other factors. The company said the price increase does not include Maxwell House 100% Colombian, Wake Up Roast, singles, filter packs or any instant coffees.

The move came days after J.M. Smucker Co. raised prices by 4% on the majority of its Folgers, Dunkin' Donuts, Millstone and Folgers Gourmet Selections coffees.
