New Kosherfest, Latin, Asian Co-Located Expositions Bolster Food Focus At IH/M&RS

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The 2006 International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show set for November 11 to 14 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center will offer expanded opportunities for foodservice buyers through cross market access to the All Asia Food Expo, Expo Comida Latina and Kosherfest.

The 91st edition of the annual event is expected to connect more than 35,000 industry professionals from around the world with 1,400 trend-setting exhibitors.

Co-locations with three foodservice shows will complement the more than 600 culinary exhibitors found at the IH/M&RS, presenting a wide array of specialty food products and equipment. All Asia Food Expo, Expo Comida Latina and Kosherfest, presented by Diversified Business Communications, will add to these resources with a combined 600 exhibitors and 12,000 attendees, bringing the overall market experience to 2,000 exhibitors and 47,000 visitors.

Show hours run 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Sunday, November 12 and Monday, November 13 and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Tuesday, November 14.


The 2006 educational platform will feature approximately 40 sessions for lodging and foodservice professionals, addressing such topics as leadership skills, risk management, responding to trends, foodservice equipment and success as a restauranteur. Educational events and culinary demonstrations are scheduled throughout the event.

Several marketing partners will share their culinary expertise through seminars and demonstrations on Sunday, November 12 and Monday, November 13. Seminars include “The Ins and Outs of Being on Top” and “To Be or Not To Be Trendy,” along with “Haute Cuisine: Hospital Food Meets Fine Dining” and “Impacting the Bottom Line: Customer Service, Satisfaction and Retail Trends in Healthcare Foodservice.”

Back by popular demand, the 138th annual Salon of Culinary Art will feature live cooking demonstrations and competitions in a variety of culinary skills, as well as more than 300 static “food as art” displays.

The International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show once again will partner with key hospitality organizations, including: the American Culinary Federation, American Institute of Wine & Food, American Society for Healthcare Food Service Administrators, Club Managers Association of America, Culinary Institute of America, Distinguished Restaurants of North America, Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals, International Interior Designers Association, Johnson & Wales University, Society of Foodservice Management, United States Air Force, United States Navy and others.
