DALLAS -- Following an upbeat preview of quarterly performance last month, Dave & Buster's has released full details for the period ended May 1, 2011.

Revenues were up 5% to $148.6 million compared with the same quarter last year when D&B’s closed a store in Nashville due to flooding.

As indicated last month, D&B's reported a 6.2% increase in comparable store sales and a $1.4 million increase in revenues from noncomparable stores and other revenue sources.

Total food and beverage revenues increased 4.1%, while income from amusements and "other" sources rose 5.9%.

Dave & Buster's chief executive Steve King said the company achieved "solid growth in both walk-in and special events sales" while closely controlling costs.

Dave & Buster's has 56 locations in 24 states and Canada. D&B's closed a store in Dallas, where it's headquartered, on May 1. A new store will open in Orlando, FL, next month.
