HIGH POINT, NC -- Microtronic US has announced that its internationally renowned cashless payment technology is being integrated into the room keycards used by many hotels. The company reported that this project will enable hotel guests to use their keycards to make purchases from vending machines equipped with Microtronic readers.
According to Microtronic, the most widely used hotel door locks are manufactured by Kaba Ilco Inc., and work seamlessly with Microtronic readers. This permits deploying versatile cashless payment systems in hotels and motels, without incurring monthly credit card fees, and the expense of monitoring transactions.
Headquartered in Switzerland, Microtronic has been in business for more than a quarter of a century, and has played a leading role in the development of smartcard prepaid technology. Microtronic readers contain no moving parts; the company explains that this provides long, trouble-free service life, which is a great advantage for operators. Microtronic has been active in the United States market for six years.
