Beaver Debuts Value-Priced Southern Beaver Machine

Hank Schlesinger

NEWMARKET, ON, Canada — Beaver Machine Corp. said it is introducing a low-cost version of its popular Southern Beaver bulk vender. The new machine features all components found in the original Southern Beaver, including a sturdy ABS body, shatterproof polycarbonate globe and geographically assigned keys, said company officials. The difference between the new machine and the original is that the new unit features a lid, hopper and base made of lightweight aluminum, rather than zinc alloy.

“Operators wanted a more economical machine that was cost effective,” said Beaver’s Heidi Schwarzli. “When you’re paying more for a machine, even though it’s higher quality with lower maintenance costs, it does take you a little longer to get your return on investment. So this way, you’re getting the Beaver quality at a competitive price for a quicker ROI.”

The new low-cost version fits all Beaver racks, including the  BS800, BS250 and Tri-Towers. Shipping with a standard 25¢ Beaver coin mech, the unit features the RB16 globe that holds 350 pieces of 850-ct. ball gum; upgrades to 10-, 12- and 14-in. globes are available.

Beaver has also announced changes to its vending product conversion components for the classic Round Beaver series of bulk venders. The updates will replace many of the metal parts with nylon components. Among the parts changed on the RB are the wing and wheel, as well as the NB riser plate.

The change to sturdy nylon components follows the introduction of the material in the machine’s housing that occurred two years ago. According to company officials, the durable nylon is not only longer-lasting, but also provides many benefits over metal alloy, such as its ability to withstand difficult environments and vend salty snacks without eroding or oxidizing.
