Keurig Vue V1200 READING, MA -- Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. is shipping its newest commercial single-cup brewing system. The Keurig Vue V1200 allows users to customize the strength, size and temperature of their beverages, and is the first brewer in the industry to incorporate RFID technology in its portion packs to control brew settings.

Green Mountain debuted the Vue in February with an at-home model. | SEE STORY

The commercial brewer's programmable touchscreen allows users to specify their preferences by adjusting water pressure, brew timing and airflow, and selecting from a brewing temperature range between 187° F. and 198° F. It brews from proprietary Vue packs, rather than the K-Cups that work in legacy Keurig machines.

The UL-listed V1200 uses commercial Vue packs that contain an RFID recipe tag that is read by the brewer, identifying the optimum setting for the beverage.

Consumers customize beverages by selecting a brew strength and choosing from eight brew portions, from 4 fl.oz. to 18 fl.oz. (travel mug size); specially formulated Vue packs are used for the larger servings. Separate dairy "frother" packs can be used to add foam when preparing specialty drinks.

The machine's My Brew technology guides users who might not be familiar with the Keurig single-cup brewing system to enable the machine to default to optimum settings for the chosen beverage based on a "recipe" tag.

The V1200 is launching with more than 20 Vue pack varieties under the Green Mountain Coffee, Barista Prima, Tully's Coffee, Coffee People, Green Mountain Naturals, Café Escapes, Celestial Seasonings and Newman's Own Organics brands.

The Vue pack's cup is made from polypropylene #5 plastic and can be recycled; it presently is accepted in approximately half of the communities in the U.S. More on Vue recycling is available at VueRecycling.com.

Concurrent with the Vue V1200 launch, Green Mountain is rolling out a complementary away-from-home system -- the Vue V1255 -- that is being sold at office product stores.

In 2012, Green Mountain sold its one millionth brewer through the commercial channel. Its Keurig single-cup coffeemaker was also named "Brand of the Year" in the 2012 Harris Poll EquiTrend Equity Study. | SEE STORY
