CHICAGO -- Raw Thrills has formed a partnership with PayLeap, an online payments technology and service delivery company, to handle electronic card transactions through the PayLeap gateway. Raw Thrills and its Play Mechanix studio reported that the PayLeap system is being enabled on more than 4,000 Big Buck Hunter games.

PayLeap will process card payments for Raw Thrills locations throughout the United States and Canada. The game developer reports that its new Big Buck HD can connect over various wireless networks to the payment gateway. Raw Thrills plans to roll out an additional 1,500 locations by year's end.

"PayLeap was able to deliver a solution that was perfect for our business model, enabling us to easily set up and roll out multiple locations quickly and efficiently," said George Petro, president of Raw Thrills and the Play Mechanix studio.

Big Buck's average gameplay transaction is around $7.50, Petro reported, so accepting credit cards is essential to the company's growth. The PayLeap payment gateway offers the necessary versatility, he explained, including a scalable platform, robust back-end reporting and reliable real-time transaction processing.

Linking up with Raw Thrills is a milestone for PayLeap, which in the past has mostly supported online e-commerce transactions, said Rod Katzfey, the company's chief operating officer.

PayLeap recently announced a partnership with First Data to expand its payment services -- credit and debit card processing, point-of-sale and e-commerce solutions -- throughout Canada.

Play Mechanix has created over 40 arcade videogames since 1995. It merged with Raw Thrills in 2006. The company's products include Big Buck Hunter, Dirty Driving, Terminator Salvation and Super Bikes.
