TROY, MI -- 365 Retail Markets reports that it is partnering with LightSpeed Automation (Suwanee, GA) in a limited beta test of a new interface between 365's SmartHQ software and LightSpeed's FastTrack warehouse automation system. The latter is widely used in the full-line vending industry.
At present, operators of 365 micromarkets use the SmartHQ administration portal to generate pick-lists for use by the warehouse staff when they assemble the day's orders. 365's new interface permits operators who now use the LightSpeed warehouse automation system to transmit those pick-lists from the SmartHQ application directly to the FastTrack system, which then guides the warehouse team directly to the required products with illuminated signals displayed on the shelves. FastTrack also indicates the required quantities, and incorporates robust error-checking to ensure the accuracy of each order.
Better still, 365 said, the quantities of each stock-keeping unit picked in the LightSpeed-equipped warehouse are transmitted back to SmartHQ, which updates its inventory records automatically. Thus, drivers will not have to check items in one by one when restocking a micromarket.
"Operators using LightSpeed's FastTrack system to pre-kit their existing vending routes will see the largest value add, now that they can utilize the same system on which employees are already trained," 365 explained.
The company plans to conclude the beta test with LightSpeed at the end of October, and to release the final version of the SmartHQ-FastTrack interface to market in November.
