BETHLEHEM, PA -- Just Born, the candy company that produces perennial favorites Mike and Ike and Hot Tamales, is bolstering its presence in the bulk vending industry.

The company recently made a solid push forward in the bulk vending marketplace with new Mike and Ike products and the gourmet Teenee Beenee jelly beans line.
The Bethlehem, PA-based confectioner's decision to strengthen its position in bulk vending machines follows the promotion of Jim Costas, who was appointed channel team manager for vending, special markets and the military in July 2010. Costas, formerly Midwest division sales manager, is now Just Born's primary link to the bulk and full-line vendors.
Additionally, the company has announced the availability of its gourmet jellybeans line, Teenee Beanee, for the bulk channel. The gourmet jellybeans sport 20 flavors, including Luxar Licorice, Cabana Strawbana, Blueberry Cobbler and Chesapeake Cherry, as well as a variety of mixes packaged for bulk vending applications.
Costas' appointment and Just Born's expanded product line signal the candy company's greater interest in vending.
"In the past, we had just the original Mike and Ike and original Hot Tamales in bulk," Costas said, "now the company has decided to expand the offerings significantly. I also see something new and exciting in the Teenee Beenees for bulk -- they taste great and are fairly priced. And I think operators will find there are consumers for a high-quality gourmet jelly bean in the bulk marketplace."
In addition to bulk formats, the company offers Mike and Ike, Hot Tamales and Peanut Chews in 2.12-oz. vend packs for full-line slots. King-size packages are available for wide slots.
