CARY, NC -- Vendgogh LLC said it has begun placing its gas island vending machines at select WilcoHess sites in Raleigh, NC. These will be Vendgogh's first installations.
The gas island vending solution will allow WilcoHess gas customers to purchase gas and cold drinks simultaneously with a single swipe of their credit card. A majority of consumers who fuel up their cars pay by credit card at the pump and, as a result, do not go into the gas station's "mini mart" area where they can buy other products, which offer higher profit margins compared to gas. "Vending at the pump will create a new buying zone that we believe will add incremental sales and enhance our gas customers' overall buying experience," said WilcoHess vice-president of marketing Larry Lytle.
Vendgogh developed the system with Allied Electronics (Fort Worth, TX), a provider of service station automation systems, and Pinnacle Corp. (Arlington, TX), an automation technology and software supplier.
