SAN FRANCISCO -- Ecast is running two concurrent promotions that end Aug. 17. Banner and tower ads on its location-based jukebox network call attention to the release of the Black Crowes' 20th anniversary acoustic album, "Croweology," and Buckcherry's "All Night Long."
The double-CD Black Crowes package includes more than 20 acoustic versions of popular songs from throughout the band's history. Its release coincides with the Aug. 13 kickoff of Black Crowes' "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys" tour. The band says it's taking a break of unspecified length after the tour.
Scott Walker, vice-president of network operations, expressed his confidence that the album will generate the high volume of song plays typical of Black Crowes songs, which he says generate tens of thousands of plays across the Ecast network.
Buckcherry's "All Night Long" is the group's fifth studio album. Its first single, "All Night Long," was released as a free download to fans on May 24. Buckcherry has established itself as a "good times" rock band with previous hits that include "Lit Up," "Crazy Bitch" and "Sorry."
