Shop24 of Nebraska is operating the machine and will share a percentage of with the City of Omaha Parks and Recreation Department.

Built in 2006, the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge and riverfront area is a popular year-round destination for Omaha residents and tourists.

"The biggest request from visitors has been lack of concessions near the area," said Omaha Parks and recreation acting director Brook Bench. "Pedestrians and bicycle riders highly utilize this bridge for recreation and commuting. The addition of Shop24 and new restroom facilities will further enhance the riverfront's usage and enjoyment among residents."

Made by Shop24 Global LLC (Columbus, OH), the giant vending machine, with a 10x13-ft. footprint, can stock up to 200 items. Shop24 of Nebraska said it plans to deploy machines to several more Omaha locations in the coming months.
