'quot; The National Automatic Merchandising Association is calling for donations for the sixth annual NAMA Silent Auction to benefit the NAMA Foundation and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama.
Held during NAMA's National Expo in Atlanta, GA, Oct. 27-29, the event raises tens of thousands of dollars to fund industry research and scholarships through the NAMA Foundation. In addition, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama to help grant the wishes of courageous children who are battling life-threatening medical conditions.
NAMA has already received a number of donations including golf for three with Dick Atnip at the Hacienda Golf Club (dinner included), a digital camera and leather case, and a Wittnauer ladies watch.
Bidding on auction items will begin at . Thursday, Oct. 27, and end between and Friday, Oct. 28. From to Saturday, Oct. 29, there will be a Second Chance Auction for all items that were unclaimed.
Gifts of any value are welcome, and over the years have included everything from airline tickets and "Get Away" hotel packages to golf clubs, artwork and vending items. Donations of larger gifts are especially important, although smaller items can be grouped together to create a gift collection. For more information contact Susi Graff at (312) 346-0370.
In other NAMA news, the Sept. 1 deadline has passed for NAMA industry awards nominations. The awards recognize deserving individuals and companies for professional achievements in vending, coffee service and foodservice management. They will be presented during the Industry Awards Banquet during the NAMA National Expo.
Vending awards include Operator of the Year (Golden Coin) and Allied Member of the Year; and in coffee service, the Mike Savoie Memorial Silver Service Award and Allied Member of the Year awards. The Industry Person of the Year honor is open to all members.
NAMA also announced the signing of The Tradeshow Coach Susan Friedmann, CSP, as its newest Knowledge Source partner. Friedmann is available to all NAMA members looking for professional advice to boost their exhibiting results.
