SAN FRANCISCO -- Tamara Baker has joined Cantaloupe Systems as vice-president of engineering. Cantaloupe chief executive Mandeep Arora, who announced the appointment, said that the company had taken the time to find the right candidate for the post.

During her 15-year career, Baker has held a number of executive and management posts. Most recently, she was vice-president of engineering at Untangle Inc. (San Mateo, CA), a provider of commercial open-source solutions. She also has served as vice-president of product development for the Americas at Weathernews.com, and vice-president of engineering at E-Color Inc. and Encanto Networks Inc.

Baker is a charter member and advisor to the nonprofit organizations Silicon Valley Code Camp and the Dare2B Digital Conference. She holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Cornell University, and attended the Executive MBA summer program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Cantaloupe Systems is the developer and marketer of Seed wireless vending machine monitoring hardware and software, which streamlines route operations, and the new Seed Cashless vending payment system.
