AMI Megatouch

BRISTOL, PA -- AMI Entertainment Network has released the 2012 version of its domestic software for the Megatouch Ion countertop game system. This update includes 11 featured games plus continued operator support. It is available for download for connected machines, and kits for purchase have been shipped to AMI distributors.

Seven of the 11 featured games are new, and four are updates of enduring favorites. Of the seven new titles, five are compatible with TournaMaxx. All are said to feature bigger and better content, and to offer a fresh game experience. According to AMI, current players will be pleased with the new content and the social atmosphere, in conjunction with the newly enlarged visuals, will attract new players to step in and join the fun.

Highlights of the updated menu include two additional titles for Megatouch Photo Hunt, which is described as the original find-the-difference game. Joining the roster are Photo Hunt Expedition and Photo Hunt Expedition II, in which players progress through history, earning points by finding hidden objects. Brand-new big pictures have been added to please classic Photo Hunting fans; and the always-popular Penthouse Photo Hunt library has been enhanced similarly with "the biggest and hottest photos" of a number of models.

Also new in the 2012 release are games that will exercise players' knowledge and reflexes. Play4 Crossword is a word puzzle that envelops the player from all angles; Rock Mahjong is an "amped-up" version of a Megatouch classic. Brain Quest offers a test of trivia skills, challenging contenders to demonstrate that they know more than the average fifth-grader. Dino Whiz puts a premium on the ability to answer questions quickly, since a hungry dinosaur named Derek lies in wait for those who are too slow. An all-new game, Wordy Birds, calls on participants to create the greatest possible number of words before time runs out.

Among other titles enhanced to generate new excitement are Casino Cats Final Table Hold 'Em and Monster Madness 2, both refreshed with a new look.

"With Megatouch 2012, AMI is once again delivering a social experience for our players, and revenue for our operators," said AMI president and chief executive Mike Maas. "The great new titles and upgrades, along with our proven favorites, showcase the creative power behind our software. With the ever-changing nature of the coin-op industry, that creativity is key to making Megatouch the best it can be for both our operators and our players."
