MILAN, Italy -- Planning is under way for next year's Venditalia international trade fair, which will be held at Fieramilaoncity here from May 9 through 12. The 2012 show will be the eighth for the biennial event.
Sponsored by Italy's vending trade association CONFIDA and now organized by Venditalia Servizi S.r.l., Venditalia has grown into a major international vending exposition. The 2010 show attracted 271 exhibiting companies from 14 countries, which occupied 20,000 square meters (nearly 215,300 square feet) of exhibit space. The show was visited by some 20,000 registrants, up 8% from attendance at the 2008 event.
CONFIDA -- originally the Confederazione Italiana Distribuzione Automatica -- was founded in 1979, and the Italian industry organized its first trade show in the same year. That event, MIDA (Mostra Italiana della Distribuzione Automatica), was reorganized and expanded as Venditalia in 1998. CONFIDA is a national member of the European Vending Association.
The organizers of the 2012 event report that the show will benefit from new pavilions that afford greater space for communication and ancillary activities.
Preliminary information on the 2012 show, including a map of the Fieramilanocity exhibition center, may be found at venditalia.com (Italian and English). Online registration will become available in September.
