WAKEFIELD, MA — New from Keurig Inc. is the B200, a single-cup brewer designed for mid-sized offices. Featuring sleek, upscale design, the new machine offers a range of advanced features.
The B200 can be used as a pour-through when a water-line connection is impractical, or it may be plumbed in. The back panel is configured to accommodate a filter when the brewer is connected to a location’s potable-water supply.
New on the B200 is an LCD panel that presents a sequence of instructions, walking first-time users through the simple steps of preparing a cup of coffee. English, Spanish or French may be chosen as the language in which the instructions are displayed. The operator also can program in a service phone number, add vending options, and display diagnostic data when servicing the machine.
Brew strength is adjustable, so the user can select the standard 8-fl.oz. cup or a heartier 6-fl.oz. portion with greater soluble-solids content.
Recovery time has been shortened, so the B200 can repeat “back-to-back” brews every 60 seconds. As a pour-through, it maintains this pace until its 64-fl.oz. water tank is empty; if plumbed, it can continue for as long as needed.
Also brand-new is a modular vending accessory kit that fits inside the cabinet. Thus, the brewer can be converted to coin control by simply changing the front panel.
The B200 fits into the Keurig lineup between the small, flexible B140 and the high-volume B2003.
“This new brewer has an incredible array of features not found in any other commercial brewing equipment for the mid-size office,” said Keurig president Nick Lazaris.
All Keurig brewers use Keurig’s patented K-Cup portion pack, in effect a disposable mini brew chamber that protects precisely measured portions of ground coffee or leaf tea until they’re brewed. Infusion takes place entirely in the K-Cup, and the spent grounds are fully contained within it for no-mess disposal. Through licensing agreements, Keurig’s coffee roaster and tea packing partners offer more than 130 varieties of gourmet hot beverage in K-Cup format.
Keurig is a wholly owned subsidiary of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. Information on the Keurig line may be had by visiting keurig.com, or by calling the company at (888) CUP-BREW [287-2739].
