BUFFALO, NY -- Students at the University at Buffalo can now use their iOS or Android smartphones to pay for vending purchases, according to the campus's UB Reporter.
The university's release of the CBORD Mobile ID smartphone application allows students to purchase food and beverages from any of the 236 vending machines on campus using funds on their prepaid UB cards.
The free app is available at the App Store and Google Play. Once downloaded, customers can purchase from vending machines using a machine's unique ID label. Most vending areas will contain signage detailing the process.
The university is also exploring the possibility of extending use of the app to washers and dryers in its dormitories, according to the UB Reporter.
