WEST CHESTER, PA -- Buffalo Rock Co. (Birmingham, AL) will begin installing MEI's CashFlow VNR bill recycler in about half of its 50,000 vending machines in the southeastern United States, according to MEI.
The full-line vending operator and Pepsi-Cola bottler tested more than 20 of the MEI recyclers, which can return banknotes as change, on machines in Columbus, GA, and Pensacola, FL, as well as Birmingham. During the trial, Buffalo Rock recorded sales lifts of 15% to 75% through the test machines, which were located in manufacturing plants, retail malls and automobile dealerships, and on military bases.
Buffalo Rock's Mike Bunt, general manager of corporate marketing equipment, explained that the trial was designed to demonstrate reliable performance, added customer convenience and increased sales -- and it did. "In most cases, we achieved at least a 15% sales lift since installing the recyclers, with virtually no jams or service problems," he said.
MEI's VN2700 bill validator can be fitted at any time with a VNR recycler module. The VN2700 can accept banknotes in denominations up to $20, and with the VNR module, can give change in $1 or $5 bills captured for "recycling." According to the manufacturer, the CashFlow VNR offers the smallest bill recycler footprint available.
The VN2700 validator with VNR recycler also can accommodate an optional high-visibility bezel with bright LED illumination that informs patrons of the denominations that the system will accept. And it can accept MEI's 4-in-1 bezel, which expands the system to accept not only cash, but also conventional and contactless credit cards, as well as MEI coupons. Read more about MEI's recycler.
Buffalo Rock Co., with 14 distribution centers in Alabama, Florida and Georgia, is one of the nation's largest single-family, privately owned Pepsi bottlers.
