DALLAS -- Dave & Buster's Inc. has selected Proxomo Software Inc. for a back-of-the-store management system that will be used in all D&B's locations. The Mobile Restaurant Management application is designed to help the big box amusement-restaurant operator reduce operational costs and streamline readiness and incident reports, location audits, compliance and training.
The Proxomo application includes a Web console that allows an administrator to manage users, track and monitor responses from the field, and identify issues at the store level. With many restaurant apps dedicated to customer interaction and wait staff efficiencies, Proxomo’s focuses on managing kitchen and supply chain activities, according to the company. The system package includes an iPad or iPad Mini, a Bluetooth thermometer and the software.
Up until now, the Dave & Buster's technology effort has been focused on guest-centric tools rather than back-of-house operations, according to D&B's IT vice-president Greg Clore. "Due to the fast-paced growth of D&B's, it was time to proceed with a digital solution to some of our basic compliance and routine checks across the organization," he said. "Proxomo has provided us with an application that gives us the flexibility to control, collect and analyze many of our key day-to-day operational metrics throughout our stores across the country in a matter of minutes instead of hours or days."
Dave & Buster's is headquartered in Dallas and operates 65 stores, mostly in the U.S. The stores, which cater to adults, combine arcade amusements, casual dining and alcohol service.
Proxomo, also based in Dallas, specializes in the development of MBaaS (mobile backend as a service) technology. The company was acquired by Lucent Mobile Inc. in May. The Proxomo Mobile Restaurant Management app reportedly is used by other casual and quick-serve restaurant chains.
