Beaver, Cigarsolo Add ‘Kick’ To Concept Of Vendible Balls

LAS VEGAS — Operators attending the recent NBVA convention here got a first look at a joint effort between Beaver Machine Corp. and Cigarsolo S.A. DE C.V. based in Guadalajara, Mexico. Called the Infla-Tu, Spanish for “you inflate,” the machine vends deflated rubber balls in 2.7-in. capsules and provides hardware that enables patrons to inflate the 8-in. diameter balls themselves.

Based on Beaver’s popular NB50 Tower vender, the machine houses a pumping mechanism and inflation station at its base that uses a dual-cylinder manual foot pump, an inflation needle and an automatic shutoff switch that is activated when the ball expands to its full size between a pair of hand grips at the base.

Set to vend the encapsulated balls for $1 each, the new unit also boasts all standard Beaver components found in the original NB50, including Beaver coin mech, lockout dispensing wheels that are immobilized when the chute door is opened, clear shatterproof polycarbonate display panels and a separately keyed cashbox and product head.

With capacity for 180 capsules, the machine measures 11-ins. wide and deep for a small 24-sq.in. footprint, though the unit stands an impressive 76 ins. high.

“We see this machine working well in supermarkets that used to sell inflated balls in wire racks,” said Beaver’s Scott Gamble.  “The machine is also a natural fit for destinations like beaches and water parks.”

Beaver will handle sales of Infla-Tu outside of Mexico, where Cigarsolo markets the machine, officials said.
