SKEGNESS, England -- Now online is a website offering Jolly Roger's custom rocking-horse design and construction services to consumers seeking to please small children worldwide. The company is a leading manufacturer of themed kiddie rides in the United Kingdom.

Aimed at discerning parents and grandparents, the program will allow shoppers at buildme-a-rockinghorse.com to select an individual color scheme, a choice of chrome or brass "barley-twist" pole, and the inscription for the dedication- and date-plates (on the base of the rocker).

The horses are handmade in Britain with durable wood, steel and fiberglass components. They ship with a framed "birth certificate" showing the date of manufacture, and are covered by a comprehensive five-year guarantee.

Not entirely by coincidence, Jolly Roger also has launched two 3-seat carousel kiddie rides for amusement operators; one of them is Galloper, a classic horse merry-go-round. The other is an airplane ride featuring three jetliners that circle a control tower.

Both are engineered to provide high value to parents in the present cash-strapped economy; in the UK, they typically are priced at 50p or 1£ (about 80¢ to $1) a ride, comparing very favorably to the prices charged for less engaging rides. Designed with 1.6-m. footprint (just over 5 ft. in diameter), they can be placed in a very wide variety of locations.

The new rides join a lineup that includes such popular themes as Thomas and Friends (starring the celebrated railroad locomotive) and Roarie the Racing Car, along with other 3-seat carousels Teletubbies and the International Speedway. The manufacturer's carousel rides offer variable rotation speed, safe and slow startup, and slipping safety clutches to enable emergency stops.

Jolly Roger (Amusement Rides) Ltd. has been a member of the Photo-Me International group since 2005. Information about its kiddie rides may be found online at jolly-roger.co.uk.
