CINCINNATI -- Gold Medal Products has announced the availability of its novel auto shutoff feature on a wider range of its popcorn poppers.
The feature is standard on Gold Medal's 2656 Ultra 60 Special, 1866 Ultra P-6, and the 2552LS PopMaxx Value Line Popper. The company is introducing a kit that allows auto shutoff capability to be added to other poppers with kettle capacities up to 14 oz.

Gold Medal's Auto Shutoff system turns off power automatically after 15 minutes of idle time. It resets automatically every time a fresh batch of corn is popped. In addition to enhancing safety, this reduces energy costs by eliminating wasted electricity during idle times and extends the life of the kettle’s heating element.
Gold Medal reports that the system is easy to operate. A blinking light indicates that the kettle is turned off, so the operator can quickly reheat it whenever required. The kit is designed for easy installation.
Founded in 1931, Gold Medal Products introduced a small popcorn machine in 1941. Its 1949 Pop-A-Lot 6-oz. kettle put it on the popcorn makers’ map.
