ATLANTA -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation raided Internet cafés that operate sweepstakes videogames in the towns of Villa Rica, Blairsville and Helen.
A GBI spokesman said the raids followed a one-month undercover investigation and represent part of an ongoing statewide gambling probe.
Agents seized flash memory cards and servers from 100 machines in Villa Rica; 30 machines were confiscated in Blairsville and 30 in Helen.
No arrests were made but GBI officials said district attorneys will review the evidence and pursue grand jury indictments for suspected lawbreakers.
The raids came seven weeks after the GBI Director Vernon Keenan joined Gov. Nathan Deal and state Attorney General Sam Olens in announcing a statewide crackdown on the devices on Aug. 16. | SEE STORY
