HIGH POINT, NC -- Now available from Microtronic US is recognition of standard barcode cards as payment media for the company's micromarket system.
According to Microtronic's Terri Starnes-Bryant, micromarket operators now can offer their accounts a complete range of payment options, including standard debit and credit cards (with magnetic stripe), RFID smartcards, payroll deduction and "account and PIN" -- which requires no payment medium at all.
The very wide range of payment choices permits Microtronic operators to enable their customers to use the same payment medium at the location's vending machines and the micromarket.
The system is designed to offer operators great flexibility in customizing installations for the specific requirements of each account. The payment terminal is available built into a secure cabinet checkout station, or may be purchased for mounting into the vendor's own cabinetry ("Build Your Own Market").
Microtronic US's payment terminal can interface with a range of hot and cold cup beverage dispensing options, so customers can purchase a beverage at the checkout station without the need to "self-bag" cups. These include Cafection Enterprises' Avalon whole-bean, single-cup countertop coffee brewer and the Multi-max K-Cup vender, which allows the sale of premium hot beverages for the Keurig hot beverage system. Cold drinks can be delivered through bag-in-box fountain dispensers actuated by the Fountain BOB controller, developed by B.L. Sizemore & Associates, which also can interface with the Microtronic US system.
