ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL -- Namco America has issued updated software for its Tank! Tank! Tank! motion cabinet game. This adds new enemies, additional "NamCam" picture frames to enhance player customization, and more audio and video instructions to improve game play.

Tank! Tank! Tank! is a combination driving game and shooter, casting the player as commander of a tank defending a city against alien enemies. The battlefield, target acquisition and the results of each shot are depicted on a vertical LCD screen.

The software upgrade adds Bee-Bots and the Octo-Giant to the city's attackers. They join the original assailants, Arachnos and the Red Dragon. In the game's cooperative-play mode, antagonists will rotate on a monthly schedule.

Tank! Tank! Tank! allows the player to create and store a personal photo, displayed with the score achieved. The software update includes additional options for customizing this image, in the form of new "frame" overlays that include a cowboy hat, samurai helmet, prisoner's uniform and tiger mask.

Also new in the update is a change to the game's default mode displayed by the game selection screen, which becomes "free-for-all." The player also can choose "team up" and "cooperative play." These modes govern the interaction of adjacent networked games, which can accommodate as many as four players. Cooperative play puts all players on the same side; team up allows them to choose sides, joining a red or blue squad to compete for the best score. Free-for-all pits each player against the others.

Doubling the number of potential enemies and sequencing their appearance will give patrons a new experience every month, said Namco America product coordinator Sam Ven. "The game experience is further enhanced with additional audio and visual directions to help players defeat enemies and advance to the next level," he added.

Owners of Tank! Tank! Tank! can obtain the free software upgrade by calling Namco America's Advance Replacement Program at (847) 264-5612, or emailing to parts@namcoamerica.com. New shipments of the game will have the new software already installed.
