VALLEY VIEW, OH -- Shaffer Distributing Co. hosted a crane and merchandiser seminar at its offices here. Guest speaker Jim Chapman, Coast to Coast Entertainment (Sayreville, NJ), led a roundtable discussion among operators and FEC owners in attendance. The forum gave individuals the chance to swap experiences and exchange ideas about cranes and merchandisers, and to ponder the positive impacts on revenue attainable by updating plush.
Among the topics covered were new trends in crane and merchandiser designs and operation; how to "dress" cranes for maximum revenue and player appeal; and how to get the most out of a new merchandiser.
"It was a true roundtable," reported Shaffer equipment salesman Bob Muniak. "The audience shared ideas and information, which Shaffer and Coast to Coast enjoyed hearing as much as the participants."
Chapman passed along many ideas that can augment the success of cranes and merchandisers. To illustrate one of them, he showed off a Team Jersey Crane and demonstrated that placing rolled up pro team jerseys and shirts can make for a very attractive display.
"Cranes and merchandisers are some of the best ROI games in the market," Chapman said. "You must look at them as retail stores."
