CHICAGO -- William T. Glasgow, founder of the eponymous trade show management company based here, said he plans to retire, effective June 30. W.T. Glasgow Inc. has managed national amusement industry expositions for almost three decades, beginning with the 1985 Amusement Showcase International, which was owned by the American Amusement Machine Association.
The management company also produced the Amusement and Music Operators Association's International Expo from 1999 to 2010, when AMOA and AAMA merged their shows. And WTG has since managed the Amusement Expo, the new show cosponsored by the associations.
Glasgow has also run top conferences in other industries, perhaps most notably as vice-president and show manager of the mega Consumer Electronics Show.
"AMOA can never truly repay [Bill] for the contributions he has made to the association, to the industry and especially the coin-op events he directed," said AMOA executive vice-president Jack Kelleher.
Management of WTG will pass to Glasgow's sons Bill Glasgow Jr. and Brian Glasgow.
