HALTOM CITY, TX -- Chris Canard, president of sweepstakes videogame manufacturer Hest Technologies, has posted a statement on the company website's legal page, responding to multiple raids and arrests by state and federal authorities on Aug. 17.

Canard said three executives were arrested, not four as reported by local newspapers and Vending Times. | SEE STORY

The Hest chief said the company's main offices and manufacturing operations here were searched; computers, files and other assets were seized and bank accounts have been frozen.

The defendants have assembled a strong legal defense team and Hest employees are "working diligently" to continue business uninterrupted, Canard stated.

Hest continues to take the position that sweepstakes games are legal, Canard added. He emphasized that the legal actions against his company are restricted solely to Texas. "Business and nonprofit organizations in other states with business relationships with Hest should feel comfortable in continuing to offer this entertainment option to clients," Canard said.
