DALLAS -- Chuck E. Cheese's director of marketing and sales Ryan Linders made a special guest appearance on Lifetime Television's "The Balancing Act" to discuss how CEC is helping parents, students and teachers with fundraisers.

Since 2004, Chuck E. Cheese's has given back more than $6 million in support of education and charitable organizations through its fundraising programs, Linders said. CEC Entertainment, the Dallas-based parent company of Chuck E. Cheese's, plans to expand its community involvement on behalf of education and kids' charities, he said.

Fundraisers at Chuck E. Cheese's involve inviting community members to visit a location on a specific night when 15% of all register sales generated during the event are donated to the school or organization. There is no cost involved, and no requirement for teachers, administrators or parents to work during the event. Teachers get free meals.

CEC also helps promote events with posters and free tokens for kids. If desired, a Chuck E. Cheese mascot could make a personal appearance at a school on the day of its event.

Any elementary school, nonprofit organization, youth-sport team or other organization benefiting children under the age of 12 qualifies for the program. Groups reserve their event online at chuckecheese.com/fundraising.

CEC and its franchisees operate 553 stores in 48 states and seven foreign countries and territories.
