SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Apriva, a wireless transactions and
secure information solutions provider, announced the
availability of two wireless point-of-sale products for
mobile merchants.
AprivaPay is a browser-based application that allows
businesses to directly process credit-card transactions
through Web-enabled mobile phones. It gives merchants
the ability to accept card payments on the go, through
virtually any browser-based cellphone including iPhone,
Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile.
Users need not purchase hardware or download
software, Apriva reports. Once merchants access
AprivaPay through their smartphones, all the relevant
transaction information is input through a secure
interface. Transactions are securely processed through
Apriva's proprietary gateway.
AprivaPay Professional, a second solution, turns
compatible smartphones into credit-card terminals. By
downloading Apriva's secure transaction processing
software, mobile merchants can enjoy the same
functionality as any traditional credit-card processing
terminal, the company explained.
Merchants can combine the AprivaPay Professional
software with an optional printer and magnetic strip
reader, giving businesses a low-cost alternative to
standalone terminals. This solution can also process a
transaction when network connectivity is lost by
encrypting and storing data on the device and then
generating authorizations once coverage resumes.
AprivaPay Professional is available on Windows Mobile
platforms, with Android, iPhone and BlackBerry versions
set for release in the near future.
Apriva said merchants can use their preferred devices
and network providers with both solutions. Apriva also
offers 24/7 support for both mobile POS solutions.
Separately, Apriva announced its entry into a strategic
partnership with Visa to offer cashless payment
technology to vending operators in the United States.
