CHARLOTTE, NC -- Snyder's-Lance Inc. and Inventure Foods Inc. have entered into a agreement that will expand Snyder's-Lance route distribution system in Arizona, and increase Inventure's access to the growing Snyder's-Lance national distribution network for its brands.
The snack food companies have been allies for the past 15 years, distributing one another's products in their respective direct story delivery (DSD) networks, and the new arrangement expands that relationship.
Snyder's-Lance Inc., headquartered in Charlotte, NC, manufactures pretzels, sandwich crackers, potato chips, cookies, tortilla chips, crackers, nuts and other snacks under brands that include Snyder's of Hanover, Lance and Cape Cod.
In recent years, it has strengthened its DSD network, helped by a series of acquisitions. The new pact will allow Snyder's-Lance to expand its DSD network in the Southwest and increase route volumes with new partner brands. Inventure Foods' specialty food brands will benefit from wider distribution of a national DSD network of more than 3,000 routes.
Inventure Foods, based in Phoenix, markets snacks under company-owned and licensed brand names, including Boulder Canyon, T.G.I. Friday's, Nathan's Famous and Poore Brothers.
As part of the agreement, Snyder's-Lance will take over a number of independent business owner routes in Arizona from Inventure, a move in line with Snyder's-Lance's plan to continue growing its national DSD distribution network. At the same time, Inventure will receive access to the Snyder's-Lance distribution network with expanded opportunity as a key partner brand.
