Coinco Debuts Vantage During October’s National Vending Show

ST. LOUIS — Coin Acceptors Inc. introduced the Vantage Series of bill acceptors for vending at the 2008 National Automatic Merchandising Association National Expo here. This year marks the company’s 50th anniversary in business.

According to Coinco, its new Vantage technology emphasizes increasing revenue while reducing service and operating costs. It features the company’s proven bill acceptance and bill transport reliability, and adds capabilities designed to increase profitability in the current vending environment.

There are multiple models in the Vantage Series, with designs optimized for different applications with features tailored to each market. The Vantage line for amusements made its debut at last year’s Amusement and Music Operators Association International Expo (see VT, October 2007).

Higher price-points and the need for increased operational efficiencies were prime design objectives when defining the Vantage feature set. A new Smart Bezel increases sales and reduces service calls by actively communicating $1 and $5 bill acceptance, in real time, which builds customer confidence. Enhanced bezel geometry eases bill insertion, and 360° inlet lighting highlights the point of consumer transaction. The quick-release bezel speeds installation and removal, improving access while reducing service costs.

Coinco observed that the new validator’s Centric Drive Technology, anti-bill jam software and automated self-diagnostics will benefit operators by increasing first-insertion bill acceptance rates and minimize service calls related to inferior bill quality. A three-level anti-theft system physically blocks the bill path to eliminate stringing and fishing. The company added that Vantage’s “wet deck” design with co-molded sealing provides superior water protection, proven under the most adverse test conditions, enabling Vantage to perform reliably day after day in any environment.

“When designing the Vantage bill acceptor, Coinco set a goal to develop the most dependable and most secure bill acceptor on the market today,” said Tom Paczkowski, vice-president of marketing. “We turned our attention to features that would offer industry-leading acceptance and reliability, as well as technology that will address the challenges faced in today’s vending environment. The Vantage bill acceptor surpassed our goals and has raised the bar in vending industry bill acceptance.”

“The Vantage bill acceptor marks another innovation milestone for Coinco as part of an ongoing commitment to providing quality currency systems with cutting-edge technology,” added Parker Condie Jr., president of Coin Acceptors Inc.

Founded in 1958, Coinco is a privately owned company that has become a global leader in the design and manufacture of payment systems and control systems. For a half century, Coinco has been a provider of payment systems for automated transaction applications in the vending, amusement, retail, transit and specialty markets.
