Family Fun Center Roof Collapses In Indiana

by Staff Reporter
Big Bounce Family Fun Center, FEC

NEW CASTLE, IN -- The roof of the Big Bounce Family Fun Center here collapsed suddenly on the afternoon of June 17. Hours after the collapse, workers razed the 5,000-sq.ft. building, described as a pole-barn structure. The FEC had contained an arcade, climbing wall and inflatable attractions.

An employee helped children who were playing inside at the time to escape without harm. A mother of one of the children sustained serious cuts and was taken to the hospital.

Local press outlets said inspectors are investigating the cause of the collapse, which they speculate may have been due to structural failure. One inspector told local papers he had not seen this type of collapse before. See photos here.
