WEST CHESTER, PA -- MEI reports that its Easitrax software system has been chosen to manage the New York City Department of Education's network of more than 3,000 beverage vending machines in public schools. The drink machines are operated exclusively by CC Vending Inc. (Bronx, NY), which was given the responsibility for selecting the vending management software.
CC Vending selected Easitrax because the installation required a sophisticated, proven vending management system that could support the complex needs of 850 unique facilities, MEI said. The system will be used to manage CC Vending's current warehouse inventory management needs as well as future requirements for advanced forecasting and dynamic routing functionality.
"Our goal was to fulfill all of the Department of Education's reporting needs while building a fully DEX-compliant database that could be used for future services," said CC Vending's Tim Fitzgerald. "We could easily 'uplift' the database to a hosted environment to provide a more convenient pay-as-you-use solution. The Easitrax software has the features and technical flexibility to support this contract as new technology evolves."
MEI's Easitrax vending management software is a complete, end-to-end solution for controlling and monitoring all aspects of a vending operation, from cash and product to machines and drivers. Easitrax, which currently is being used to manage over 4,000 machines in some 1,000 CC Vending accounts in addition to the New York City schools, allows for increased efficiency and accountability at the driver level, and improved profitability overall.
New York City education officials selected CC Vending in part because of its superior operating and monitoring systems, according to a recent article in The New York Times (Oct. 27, 2009).
"This program represents the next stage in the evolution of the vending business," said CC Vending president Michael Cascione. "We've been moving toward a more healthful vending standard for years, but it took a committed client such as the New York City Department of Education to really take the concept to the next level. We're excited to be partners with Pepsi and NYC DOE in such an industry-leading initiative. We hope this project will be transformative for the students and the schools."
CC Vending Inc. is a full-line vending operator serving the Greater New York, New Jersey and lower Connecticut market area. Established in 1989, it operates more than 35 routes from its New York and New Jersey facilities.
