TAUNTON, MA -- MooBella Inc. reports that its novel Ice Creamery automated self-serve ice cream dispenser is now pleasing moviegoers at National Amusements' Providence Place Cinemas in Rhode Island. Two MooBella machines are installed in the main concessions area of the 16-theater complex, and a third is meeting patron demand at the nearby Imax Theater.
The MooBella Ice Creamery offers 96 choices, inviting patrons to use a touchscreen selector panel to choose premium or light ice cream and optional "mix-ins," which is prepared and delivered in 40 seconds from a machine no larger than a household refrigerator. The touchscreen not only takes the order, but also displays lively graphics depicting the blending, aerating, freezing and mixing processes.
MooBella reports that its ice cream is certified kosher, transfat- and rGBH-free and contains 1/3 less fat than the leading super-premium brands. MooBella ice cream is 90% fat-free and provides only 230 calories per 4.5 oz. scoop; the light variety is 95% fat-free and delivers only 200 calories per 4.5-oz. scoop.
Bill LeClair, vice-president of concessions for National Amusements, said that he chose MooBella because of the wide variety of high-quality options the Ice Creamery offers in such a small space, as well as its easy-to-use interactive technology.
"Introducing MooBella during the busy summer movie season made a lot of sense," LeClair explained. "Providence Place Cinemas' patrons love that we now offer great-tasting fresh ice cream with significantly less fat and calories than other super-premium brands. For me, the fact that the Ice Creamery is compact, easy for consumers to use and for my staff to clean and maintain is a huge selling point."
MooBella Inc. has received the INNY Award from the San Jose, CA-based Tech Museum of Innovation, the Kitchen Innovations award from the National Restaurant Association and the first annual Food Network Award.
