PHILADELPHIA -- After analyzing 2012 sales data fom more than 100,000 workplaces it serves in the United States, Aramark says it has learned some interesting things about its customer base.
For instance, people working in the Houston, Los Angeles and Chicago metropolitan areas consumed the most cups of coffee on the job at Aramark sites. Boston and Philadelphia follow on the list of cities that consume the most cups of Aramark-provided office coffee, while those in Miami, New York and Las Vegas consumed the least coffee.
The contract refreshment service giant found that employees in Houston and Las Vegas drink the most caffeinated hot beverages on the job, representing 78% of hot beverages consumed in workplaces served by Aramark.
Workplace patrons in Boston and Philadelphia consumed the most decaf (35% of hot beverages). Those in Washington and New York City follow, with 31% and 30% drinking decaf, respectively.
According to Aramark's data, coffee is the most popular workplace hot beverage in Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington. The most popular coffee flavors are hazelnut (Boston) and French vanilla (New York and Washington).
