FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- PrimeTime Amusements said it is growing domestically and internationally thanks to several strategic partnerships and its new consultancy business. Florida-based PrimeTime operates, sells and rents amusement equipment, and serves a clientele around the globe.

PrimeTime president David Goldfarb said his company is building a new 15,000-sq.ft. FEC in Angola, one of six similar entertainment centers planned for Africa. And the company's sales to South American countries are growing significantly. The South American amusement market is "ready to explode," he said.

Closer to home, PrimeTime has forged partnerships with such companies as Johnny Rockets, McDonald's, Muvico and Xtreme Indoor Karting. Its most recent venture is with Johnny Rockets, an international restaurant chain that combines nostalgic 1950s-style decor and a malt-shop, classic-diner menu.

PrimeTime is a partner in the new 20,000-sq.ft. Johnny Rockets Fun & Games, slated to open in Fort Lauderdale in August. The facility will feature a sports bar, a gameroom, birthday party space and an expanded menu.

Franchise owner Kyle Eldridge said the expanded restaurant and arcade is his 12th location. It will replace the former Gameworks facility in the same building.

Goldfarb said the site is being developed with on a $3 million budget. Ron Mogerman, one of the founders of former Grand Prix Race-O-Rama, now Boomers, in Dania Beach, is an investor.

Goldfarb and Eldridge said if the first Johnny Rockets Fun & Games succeeds, more could follow in the U.S. and internationally.

Also in south Florida, PrimeTime has been operating about 100 arcade machines in a McDonald's in Orlando for the past three years.
