RICHMOND, VA -- Performance Food Group Inc., parent company of vending and OCS distributor Vistar, has entered into an agreement to acquire Fox River Foods Inc., an independently owned broadline foodservice distribution company serving customers in seven states throughout the upper Midwest. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Fox River Foods began operations in 1956 and currently serves more than 7,000 customers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin. Its customers range from fine dining establishments to family restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, childcare centers, hotels and concessionaires.
It's based in Montgomery, IL, where recent warehouse expansions increased its dry, refrigerated and frozen storage capacity to 326,000 square feet.
PFG president and chief executive George Holm said the addition of Fox River Foods will significantly strengthen the company's position in the region and in several key metropolitan areas, particularly Chicago.
The transaction is expected to close before the end of the year.
Performance Food Group is also the parent company of Performance Foodservice and PFG Customized Distribution. It delivers to more than 115,000 clients that include vending operations, restaurants, pizzerias, theaters, schools, hotels, healthcare facilities and other institutions through its 64 distribution centers and 12 Merchant's Mart locations across the U.S.
