NEW YORK CITY -- The Green Coffee Association has announced the program for its annual convention, which will be held at the Revel in Atlantic City, NJ, May 10-12.

GCA will conduct a cupping and grading seminar during the conference, to give its newer members the opportunity to practice their skill with seasoned cupping professionals.

Also on the agenda is an update on the Food Safety Modernization Act titled "Where are we now and where are we going?" GCA director Dominick Veneziano will address the question: As the regulations are written and implemented, which ones will affect the coffee business?

Brown Brothers Harriman will moderate a panel discussion of counterparty exposure. The session will focus on the varying ways different players in the coffee market analyze counterparty risk, and how they determine the appropriate amount of exposure to take.

Walter Kemmsies, chief economist of Moffat & Nichol's, will offer an outlook on transportation from an economist's perspective. His overview will cover recent trends and forecasts in all modes of freight transportation. Dr. Kemmsies, a regular columnist for American Shipper magazine, frequently speaks at major industry conferences in the United States and abroad.
