BAYCHESTER, NY -- Apple Industries and Merit Entertainment are teaming up to widen the variety of entertainment choices available to patrons of Apple’s photobooths and Merit’s Megatouch multifunction countertop terminals.
One early achievement of this partnership is a photo option for Merit’s TAP.tv system. TAP.tv is a service that delivers premium television content in the context of a customizable package that also can display location-specific messages and targeted advertising. This content now can include pictures made by patrons with an Apple photobooth.
Apple Industries president Allen Weisberg noted that this capability could give customers a more personalized experience. “Imagine people seeing their images on Tap.tv screens while patronizing these establishments,” he said. “The ideas to promote these images are endless, and will certainly add a new, more personal and interactive form of entertainment to our industry.”
Apple also worked with Merit at this spring’s Amusement Showcase International to publicize the availability of Penthouse content on Megatouch countertop terminals. Showgoers had the opportunity to meet Penthouse Pet Valentina Vaughn, and to use an Apple Onyx photobooth to make a souvenir photograph of themselves with the young lady.
The new Merit program option involves fun and challenging games constructed around “enticing Penthouse visuals.” The selections include spicier versions of such Megatouch classics as Photo Hunt, Foxy Boxxi and Photo Pop – even Strip Club, a popular poker game given a new dimension with full-motion videos of the Pets. MegaNet-connected Megatouch systems can feature exclusive “Pet of the Month” content from the Penthouse Channel, not available on regular Megatouch terminals.
Apple Industries is the North and South American representative for Digital Centres (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain) and Face Place. The Digital Centres New Generation photobooth delivers the patron’s choice of color or black-and-white digital photos on four-view strips.
